Applied Memetics LLC (AM LLC) is looking for a Security Analyst, Senior. The successful candidate will be working with security analysts to ensure data protection and system access are properly deployed. Must possess creative problem-solving skills, ability to ensure that the computer systems are secure from hacking and virus attacks while adhering to security standards and industry best practices.


The ideal candidate must have experience with:

  • CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures)
  • SOP reviews/testing
  • BigFix/Excel (at an advanced level)
  • Scripting language such as PowerShell
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete work accurately and on time



The Senior Security Analyst will remediate security vulnerabilities that have already been identified and provide solutions at the direction of the prime contractor in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) security initiatives, as well as experience with:

  • Implementing IT security solutions while ensuring successful implementation
  • Security principles, policy, and regulations
  • Cyber security document management and familiarity with security and privacy rules
  • Reviewing/testing of security-related SOPs
  • Resolving outstanding risks in security systems and work with technical experts to mitigate security issues
  • Adhering to VA security standards and industry best practices
  • Documenting all operational processes and procedures to optimize support
  • Ensuring that Information Systems security architecture, designs, plans, controls, processes, policies, and procedures are aligned with VA policies
  • Assisting with development of security standards and procedures



  • Master's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. Five (5) years of experience is required, but 10 years of additional, relevant experience may be substituted for education

  • Industry certifications such as; Network +, Security + or MCSA will be considered instead of college education 

  • Ability to effectively leverage vast detailed knowledge and familiarity with security disciplines

  • Possess ability to identify key concepts, factors and risks based on conversations and document these in clear and concise narrative or graphic reports

  • Experience with remediation such as patching and using tools to push out patches to large number of computers

  • Knowledge of running vulnerability scan such as Nessus

  • Must be an expert in security concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Thorough knowledge of software, hardware, databases, networks, firewalls, encryption, and other systems security devices

  • Must have the ability to provide effort estimation and complete work based on a schedule of activities in coordination with delivery leader

  • Demonstrates strong quantitative, analytical and conceptual thinking skills

  • Must work well within a time sensitive environment

  • Ability to work alone, as well as in a group under pressure, with good written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent ability to analyze, make decisions, and solve problems

  • Good leadership qualities to instruct and lead junior analysts

  • Ability to train others on various system security threat mitigations
