Overview

Applied Mememtics LLC is seeking a Software Test / Release Manager - Senior to provide support on the Census 2020 program. Primary work locations are Suitland, MD, Greenbelt, MD, Silver Spring, MD, and SE DC. US citizenship or US Green Card holders are required for this role. 

Responsibilities

Responsiblities include:

  • Quickly understand the complex software System of Systems under test in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Assist with managing a team of software test engineers that develop test strategies, define and build test cases based on a variety of requirements and execute test plans for a complex System of Systems
  • Work closely with test management in driving planning and execution activities for iterative/overlapping integration testing efforts
  • Collaborate with team members, development teams, leadership and key stakeholders to report status and gather test requirements and limitations
  • Gather, QA and report test status metrics
  • Work with test leads to guide technical activities, set priorities, remove impediments, to help your team operate efficiently and reach its full potential.
  • Assist with schedule development and milestone tracking
  • Represent the team, take ownership and drive initiatives and process improvements
  • Evaluate the team's workload and recommend load balancing and technical guidance
  • Assist with managing program and management expectations by communicating status, accomplishments and risks regularly
  • Organize, prepare and run meetings

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong English language skills are required 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or closely related field
  • Overall: 10+ years software QA or development experience
  • 5+ years of hands on technical leadership and people management experience with software teams (managing team of 8 or more developers or QA Engineers)
  • Ability to multi-task, be flexible and adapt to a dynamic and exciting work environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Solid understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) concepts, processes and methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall and hybrid variants
  • Capable of facilitating and managing stakeholders in key decision making meetings
  • Able to function in leadership role and represent Vidoori as a key customer contact
  • Able to perform work with minimal direction
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Experience working with a variety of development methodologies: spiral, waterfall, Agile, etc.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understand software testing methodologies for manual, regression, automated, performance, interface, and infrastructure testing.
  • Understand the need for and how to incorporate automated unit and functional testing
  • Experience with Census problem domain
  • Take independent action to identify and solve problems. Seek out relevant information needed to make decisions. Get involved with new initiatives.
  • Recognize problems and respond with a systematic assessment that identifies and addresses cause of issue. Practical, realistic, and resourceful
  • Generate new ideas, challenge the status quo, and solve problems creatively.

 

Technology/Tools:

  • SharePoint, HP PPM/AGM/ALM, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Visio, MS Powerpoint

 

Experience:

  • Seeking ten (10) years of experience in Software QA Test and/or performing software testing activities, with a Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline, or eight (8) years of experience with a Master’s Degree
