Overview

Applied Mememtics LLC is seeking a Business Process Tester - Senior to provide support on the Census 2020 program. Primary work locations are in Greenbelt, MD, and at the Navy Yard in Washington, DC. US citizenship or US Green Card holders are required for this role. 

Responsibilities

Responsiblities include:

  • Define and document test cases based off of user stories
  • Develop, enhance and mature test scripts
  • Mentor team members in process test development
  • Document software issues and enhancement requests and assist development with concise and detailed steps for duplication of the defects found while performing manual functional, integration, and regression tests
  • Effectively interact with interfacing organizations and work together as a team to deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Contribute towards team estimation and scheduling process
  • Apply extensive expertise in Integration and Test and be recognized as an expert in the field
  • Work with QA and Software Engineers to improve overall development and test processes
  • Design and build tools that aid in the testing of our products
  • Report and analyze test results to ensure functionality and quality
  • Perform manual and exploratory tests with the goal of automation
  • Define, modify, and execute test plans and strategies
  • Be an advocate for testing software
  • Solve complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
  • Perform work with minimal direction and is reviewed each month or longer
  • Can make sound decisions that result in an organization achieving critical organizational objective

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience and a track record of being a difference maker
  • Strong English language skills are required 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced enviroment is required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience/knowledge
  • Experience testing web and/or mobile applications
  • Experience writing complex tests for web applications.
  • Ability to lead and mentor members of the QA team
  • Strong programming skills in C#, Java, Python, SQL.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Desire and ability to learn new skills and improve upon current skills
  • Ability to comprehend complexity, to fully understand a product with all of its business and technological implications, and to approach the improvement of its quality from that perspective
  • High degree of efficiency and motivation in work habits in a challenging, fast-paced environment. Committed to meeting all schedule deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well

Technology/Tools:

  • 8 years of demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: Java, Perl, Eclipse/IntelliJ, JSON
  • Demonstrated experience with Continuous Integration, including one or more of the following build/deploy/version control tools:
    • Maven
    • Jennkins
    • Git/Stash/Bitbucket
    • Experience in all or some of the following programming platform:
    • Linux and Bash scripting
    • JavaScript frameworks in HTML5/CSS3 context (AngularJS, jQuery, D3)
    • RESTful APIs/JSON
    • Mobile development
  • Experience working with databases and various data formats and related technologies for testing

Experience:

  • Seeking ten (10) years of experience performing business process testing activities, with a Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline, or eight (8) years of experience with a Master’s degree
