    Applied Memetics LLC (“AM LLC”) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (with a security-focused background) to provide technical support to the Enterprise Program Management Office (“ePMO’) IT Security Engineering Support program on behalf of Veterans Affairs (VA).

     

    The IT Security Engineering Support program will review and assist in assessing how VA grades electronic access and how it currently implements its policy-based authentication and delivers recommendation reports addressing opportunities for efficiency and improvement.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    This role will function as a senior security technology leader and software architect. 

     

    The Senior Software Engineer (with security-focused background) must have:

     

    • Experience in designing and implementing systems that meet agency cyber security policy and regulations
    • Extensive experience in cyber security tools, network topologies, intrusion detection, PKI, PIV, and secured network
    • Experience managing very large engineering teams and managing high-visibility problems
    • Extensive experience in healthcare IT, along with enterprise software design, architecture, and system / software security
    • Previous experience working on Veterans Affairs (VA) agile software development projects

    Qualifications

    The qualifications of the Senior Software Engineer (with security-focused background) must include:

    • Extensive IT experience in all aspects of cyber security with a vast array of IT systems involving end-user and enterprise-level networks
    • Experience in supporting the fielding of new PKI or IA-associated software or hardware
    • Software developer and/or software architect with a security-focused background 
    • Engineering team management
    • Agile project planning & execution
    • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
    • Lean software development
    • Distributed software platforms
    • Scalable software service
    • Cloud & horizontally scalable architectures
    • Good communication skills
    • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Must be technical, creative, detail-oriented, and a strong team player
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
    • Strong written and communication skills

    Educational Requirements:

    • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, math or equivalent and 10 years of experience
    • 10 years of additional, relevant experience may be substituted for education

     

                                           **Experience working in federal government environments is preferred.**
