    Applied Memetics LLC (AM LLC) is seeking an UX/UI Developer with deep knowledge of building custom web and mobile application for a Veterans Affairs program. The UI/UX developer will work with users across different disciplines in the organization to develop and create an interface that behaves as users would expect, and that results in facilitating a seamless and efficient user experience. This position will help to drive the evolution of the solutions and ensure that the company meets the internal and external clients’ software requirements.


    Project Overview


    The Clinical Knowledge Management (CKM) program is part of Veterans Affairs' Connected Health Office (CHO) that provides benefits and services to Veterans. A primary goal of the CHO is to design and implement user-friendly, high-quality mobile devices, software, and services for Veterans and their medical caregivers. Specifically, the CKM program ensures a seamless clinical, portfolio, architectural, and operational optimization of these mobile health applications.




    General Requirements:

    • At least 2-5 years industry experience in front-end web development
    • Excellent communication skills and a good command of the English language
    • Exceptional problem solver, quick study, self-starter and excellent communicator who possesses a passion for details in user interface development and the ability to achieve it
    • Staying current on the latest trends in modern web development
    • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
    • Demonstrate a positive, success-oriented attitude

    Knowledge of basic programming skills such as HTML, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), JavaScript, AJAX, Dreamweaver, Microsoft Office, Graphic design, User Interface Design, User Interface, JSON, jQuery, Java, Ruby on Rails, and SQL database development, Photoshop, Flash, Flex, and Illustrator from the Adobe Creative Suite, as well as graphic design skills and Python/Django, Groovy/Grails, or other modern web application languages and frameworks




    The UX/UI developer must have experience in:

    • Partnering closely with a cross-functional team that includes software developers, business analysts, project managers, users, etc. to create fast, intuitive and easy to use software.
    • Writing clean, modular, well-documented code that can be easily picked up by other developers
    • Delivering prototypes, reusable and shared UI components, advanced scripting solutions, and implementations of application user interfaces
    • Collaborating on product requirements analysis
    • Providing development as part of an integrated and agile development team
    • Drive evolution of application development standards and coding guides
    • Ensuring that user software requirements are met
    • Translating, with high fidelity, UI/UX designs and wireframes into functional and robust web pages using a combination of markup and template languages
    • Creating cascading style sheets (CSS) that are consistent across all browsers and platforms
    • Understanding responsive web design to create layouts that render appropriately on a variety of devices (that is, mobile, tablet, laptop, PC)
    • Leveraging popular front-end component libraries (e.g., jQuery UI) to implement complex visual layouts efficiently and effectively
    • Understanding techniques and frameworks for writing automated tests for front-end JavaScript code
    • Communicating with the creative team to refine usability and design concepts to support the objectives with the most efficient implementation strategies
    • Performing other job-related duties as assigned


    Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, web development, Human-Computer Interaction, mobile computing, graphic design, software engineering or related fields


    **Experience working in federal government environments is preferred.**
